Scree Gateway is operated by Scree, a Melbourne-based IT and cyber security company. This policy explains how we handle information when you use screegateway.com.au, join our early-preview list, or use Scree parental controls products.
Your family’s data stays yours
Your data never leaves your home gateway by default. Browsing activity, sites visited, and YouTube titles your kids watch are processed and stored on your Scree Gateway at home — not sold, not mined for ads, and not handed to third parties for marketing.
- Your data, your control. Parents decide what is collected and who can see it in the household.
- We do not sell your family’s data. Full stop.
- Only policies live in the cloud. Household rules, schedules, and settings sync through Scree Cloud so you can manage devices from your phone — not a copy of your kids’ full browsing history for us to browse.
- Australian Sovereign by design. Your family’s activity data stays on Australian infrastructure you control — your gateway at home. Cloud services used for policy management are operated for Australian families with data residency and security as design goals.
What we collect on this website
If you join our early-preview email list, we collect your email address and basic technical metadata (such as time of signup and country) to contact you about Scree Gateway availability. We use this only for product updates you asked for — not unrelated marketing lists.
How we use information
- To respond to enquiries and provide Australian-based support from Cheltenham, Victoria.
- To operate Scree Cloud policy sync for households that have paired a gateway.
- To improve product safety features such as AI Safe Score — scoring happens to protect your kids, not to profile your family for resale.
- To meet legal obligations under Australian law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable Australian Privacy Principles.
Children and young people
Scree is built for parents to protect children online. We are mindful of Australia’s developing children’s online privacy framework (including the Children’s Online Privacy Code). Parents — not children — create and manage accounts. If you believe we have received a child’s personal information in error, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. Email signups are retained while you remain on our list or until you ask to be removed. Gateway-held activity data retention is controlled by you on the device in your home.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you (such as a marketing email address) by contacting us. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
